Senator Ben Murray Bruce has said that Goodluck Jonathan was successful during his presidential administration because he didn’t blame his predecessor.
The President Muhammadu Buhari administration has blamed previous administration for the current economic woes especially the alleged massive corruption of the Jonathan administration.
However, Senator Ben Bruce via his social media page said Jonathan praised his predecessors instead of blaming them which was what made him successful.
Bruce wrote: “Do you know why we were progressing under Jonathan? Because he took responsibility and never blamed anyone for the challenges he met. Go ahead, ask yourself when Goodluck Jonathan ever blamed his predecessors. Instead of blaming them, he praised them. You can’t go forward on reverse gear!”
The senator’s post elicited different reactions as while some people agreed that the present administration must stop the blame game, others insisted that Jonathan’s administration was the architect of the present economic situation.
Peter Lazizi Obanor wrote: And only a foolish driver doesn’t look back when the front is blocked, so we were progressing when they borrowed to pay common salaries during the first quarter of 2015
Monalisa Malaika Angelo said: I’m not from Nigeria however looking in in could say goodluck was badluck still haunting Nigerians period. His administration stole and ate until their had no breathing space.
Enemah John: Predecessors that brought him to cover and mastermind their loot? Do you mean the same criminals that never saw the need to save but to loot the treasury OBJ saved? Come to think of it, have you paid AMCON? Rubbish!
Nonso Nebeolisa: This current administration is clueless, they always choose to blame Jonathan for all the failed campaign promises that Buhari gave Nigerians, change that has gone worse since our first democratic president came to power, this APC party has failed Nigerians in every shape and form, we have an obligation to kick and vote them out from Aso Rock come 2019.
Stan Onyi Umeh: Reverse gear is also serving a purpose that’s why its there… But any man who blames another for his failures and mistakes or challenges may never see success… You have the wheels so propel it and pilot it aright… APC led government should become responsible as it will make things change on the positive side…
Amos Ubaka: We can’t progress looking back… But calling gej administration progress is #Shamefull coz considering the money that accrued and we didn’t see anything visible that they did with it… We must all proffer solutions devoid of #sentiment… We ain’t moving as we should by looking back… But the people that brought us here deceived us to this point… We must all #SitUp…
Lawrence Mathew: A responsible leader will always take responsibility. They have spent a year and four month doing nothing but what they are good at, the blame game. Imagine when Obama took over from Bush, if he had complained for over a year.
Tai Oderinde Abeleshindogba: So you expect PDP President to blame immediate PDP President?
Are you for real at all?
I am anxiously waiting for you to talk extensively on the state of the economy viz-a-viz drop in crude oil prices, effects of the avengers, non saving for the raining days etc.
Unfortunalety some of your followers can’t ask you questions because you have suddenly became their god.
GEJ messed up and we must accept that before we can look inwardly to do the needful.
A few weeks ago, Garba Shehu who is the senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity wrote an article where he highlighted the problems the past administration left behind.
He cited large scale embezzlement as the biggest problem that resulted in economic recession.
