The Nii Boye IV, chief of Abeka community in Accra, Ghana, has reportedly been dethroned for bringing shame to his status and his throne.
The Nii Boye royal family said the chief was dethroned because they were tired of the embarrassment they faced each time they had to go looking for him at weed smoking joints.
The family claimed he neglected his duties sometimes just because of his urge to smoke weed.
Here’s what a spokesman of his family, Armah Ayiteh, had to say:
“It is a shocking and very sad situation. His action was disgracing the family, so when the elders considered the matter they decided to bring an end to the embarrassment. So what you heard was true. he is no more a member of the royal family.”
Even though some of his followers are worried that the chief’s removal may cause clashes in the area, Ayiteh dismissed their fears, saying the people are happy with the decision.
Hmmmm…This chief na badoo o!
