The young woman identified as Fezekile ‘Khwezi’ Kuzwayo, had accused Zuma of raping her in 2005, way before he became the president.
The deceased who eventually died on saturday, October 8, after suffering from HIV in the last 10 years, was said to be the daughter to one of Zuma’s friends identified as Judson Diza Khuzwayo, who met him while they served a prison sentence in Robben Island together.
Khwezi who was known as an advocate for women’s right and rape, said Zuma had raped her at his Johannesburg home, and when asked in court, his attorneys reduced her accusations to consensual sex. He was eventually acquitted in 2006 and went on to contest and become the South African president in 2009.

Confirming her death, her mother Beauty Sibongile Kuzwayo, released a statement saying:
“It is with our deepest sorrow that the Kuzwayo family announces the passing of our daughter Fezekile Ntsukela Kuzwayo.”
