Olamide Says He Will Never Pay Or Lobby For An International Collaboration, What Do you Guys Think

YBNL boss, Olamide, unlike his colleagues in the music industry, since hitting the limelight, have strived to ensure his music stays relevant and loved by millions in and out of the country without as much as featuring an international act or be featured in a song.

In a recent interview, the ‘Who You Epp‘ creator and crooner, made it clear that he will not in his lifetime pay or lobby to have an international act spit on his song. Olamide, who came into limelight with the release of his debut album, ‘Rapsodi‘ back in 2011, emphasized that he believes in his sound and when the time is right, his music, which has of course remained relevant in and out of the country till date, will appeal to the international crowd

He said:

I will never pay for an international collaboration, Fela never did any international collaboration neither did he lobby or pay for any international collaboration, and his music went as far as all over the world. He was relevant while alive and even after his death, his music was much sought after, so why would I want to pay for an international collaboration because I want to remain relevant in the music industry

The singer, recently released two new singles; ‘Sere and Owo Blow’ which have both gone on to become fan favorites.

So guys, what do you think? Is Olamide right about not needing to pay International acts to remain relevant, or should he tread the same path as some of his colleagues? Lets discuss.
